How does Pureva actually work?

Each pod contains a blend of zeolite (a porous mineral) and potassium permanganate (a natural oxidizer). When ethylene gas — released by ripening fruits and vegetables — passes through the pod's membrane, it reacts with the active ingredient and breaks down into harmless carbon dioxide and water vapor.

Is it safe to put near my food?

Yes. The active ingredient is sealed inside a food-grade membrane that lets gas in but never lets the contents out. The pod itself is BPA-free and FDA-compliant.

How long does one pod last?

About 90 days in a typical home fridge. We'll send you a refill reminder by email.

Where should I put it?

The crisper drawer is the best spot — that's where ethylene concentrates the most. A second pod in a fruit bowl on the counter is a bonus.

Do I need one in every drawer?

One pod covers a standard fridge crisper. If you have a side-by-side, double-drawer, or commercial fridge, two is better.

Will it make my fridge smell weird?

No. It's odorless.

How is this different from FreshPaper or Bluapple?

FreshPaper uses spice-infused paper and lasts ~2-3 weeks per sheet. Bluapple is a similar mechanism but with a reusable plastic casing. Pureva uses a recyclable pod with a higher concentration of active ingredient and lasts the full 90 days, at the lowest annual cost.

Does it work for all produce?

It works best on ethylene-sensitive produce: lettuce, spinach, broccoli, herbs, berries, grapes, peppers, cucumbers. Bananas, apples, and avocados produce ethylene rather than absorbing it — Pureva protects everything around them.

How quickly will I see a difference?

Most customers notice within 5–7 days. Berries and leafy greens show the difference fastest.

What's the guarantee?

30 days, full refund, no questions. If your produce doesn't last visibly longer, we refund the full purchase price.

When will my order arrive?

US orders ship within 24 hours. Standard shipping is 3–5 business days. Express is 1–2.

Can I subscribe to refills?

Yes — choose the subscription option and save. Refills auto-ship every 90 days. Cancel anytime in your account.

Is Pureva good for the environment?

The pod casing is recyclable, and the spent active ingredient is biologically inert. Reducing food waste also reduces methane from landfills — every pound of produce saved keeps about 1 pound of CO₂-equivalent out of the atmosphere.
